Community Radio Tucson and the Prometheus Radio Project presented a
Community Radio Workshop in Tucson on July 30th, 2011
A vibrant group of Tucsonans interested in media got together at Ward III Council Offices to learn the details of a unique opportunity to build more community radio here in Tucson.
Chet Gardiner and Jason LeValley of Community Radio Tucson and Vanessa Graber of Prometheus Radio Project shared information about the Community Radio Act, LPFM radio in general and some guided work on defining community and our next steps. We also were treated to specific real world information regarding Low Power FM Radio from Hector Youtsey, the Manager of KPYT-LP on the Pasqua Yaqui Reservation and Jeff Shaw, General Manager of KDRT in Davis, California.
